Sydney Switchboard Thermography

A loose connection glows long before it fails. We scan your switchboard and catch it first.

ThermaSight Sydney specialises in electrical thermographic surveys — switchboards, distribution boards and industrial switchgear scanned under load to catch loose connections, overloaded circuits and failing components before they become a fire risk or an outage.

How a Scan Runs

01

Book & Brief

Tell us the switchboard type, site and any known issues — nuisance tripping, warm switchboards, or a scheduled maintenance scan. We confirm scope and safe access requirements.

02

Onsite Thermal Scan

A calibrated infrared camera is used under appropriate load and weather conditions, following the relevant Australian Standard for that scan type.

03

Report & Findings

You receive an annotated thermal report with visible-spectrum comparisons, temperature readings and plain-language recommendations.

Compliance

Standards We Report Against

Inspection methodology and reporting are scoped against the Australian and international standards relevant to each service.

AS/NZS 3000:2018 Wiring Rules — the basis for scoping electrical thermographic surveys of switchboards and distribution equipment.
AS 4349.1-2007 Inspection of buildings, Part 1 — Pre-purchase inspections, referenced for residential and strata thermal reports.
AS 4349.3-2010 Inspection of buildings, Part 3 — Timber pest inspections, referenced when thermal findings support a pest report.
ISO 18434-1 Condition monitoring and diagnostics of machines — Thermography, referenced for industrial and predictive maintenance scans.
SafeWork NSW Electrical safety guidance is followed when scanning live switchboards and distribution equipment on site.

Findings and report formats are prepared with reference to the standards above. ThermaSight Sydney is not itself a NATA-accredited laboratory; where NATA-accredited testing is required for a specific matter, we can refer you to an accredited provider. Current licence and insurance details are available on request.
